Powerglove releases on Windows, Mac, Linux…. and Commodore 64!?
Matthias “Lazycow” Bock developed a classic-era run ‘n’ gun game for the 30 year old Commodore 64 computer. This title, called Powerglove, was initially released as an entry in last year’s RGCD 16K C64 competition, where it placed 3rd out of the 15 entries.
Since the initial release, Matthias has devoted his time to further optimizing the game, fixing bugs, and tweaking and cramming in additional levels and features. Today he was proud to announce that the game is now available to buy as an RGCD published C64 physical game cartridge.
That’s not all, however. Matthias has also revealed that Powerglove comes to PC, LInux, and Mac, as well as the C64. This makes Powerglove the very first game to ever be simultaneously launched on C64 and modern-day systems. The PC, Linux, and Mac ports are completely faithful to the Commodore 64 original game, though they do feature some minor enhancements.
These enhancements include parallax scrolling and even optional “pimped” artwork. But the best news is that this version of the game is completely free, so if you’re interested, you can check it out via this link.
What do you think of this C64 and modern-day system release?
