The announcement of the return of Dragon Quest franchise shocked Japan when Square Enix and Sony Computer Entertainment said that they will come with a new action game called Dragon Quest Heroes for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 owners.

In the latest number of Weekly Shonen Jump it was included a full page dedicated to Dragon Quest Heroes which included the first screenshots of the game design by Akira Toriyama.
