Developer takes two weeks off from developing Crest
Recently the Swedish indie developer Eat Create Sleep performed a PR stunt. While they are currently in the middle of both an Indiegogo and Steam Greenlight campaign for their “expressive godgame” Crest, they decided to take a couple of weeks off from developing the title.
“How is this a PR stunt?” you may be wondering. The answer is simple: The reason that they took these two weeks off wasn’t to rest a bit. It was to simply create a first-person adventure title.
This game, called Eat Create Sleep Adventures, can be downloaded at Game Jolt or Itch. In this new title, you become the producer for the Eat Create Sleep studio and get to experience how they make games first-hand.
The short adventure is part of the studio’s promotion for the upcoming title, Crest. Said Martin Greip, ECS producer, “It’s a behind the scenes experience. We wanted to illustrate the history of our studio and show creative workflow. We turned up releasing a lot of creative energy and had loads of fun doing this.”
It certainly is an interesting PR stunt, but what do you think of it?
