Today Curve Digital was proud to announce that a title that one of their own named Dave Parsons has been working on, Iron Fisticle, will be arriving on Steam this September. Though Dave Parsons has programmed games for over 15 years and was part of the team that helped bring the popular Stealth Inc. to consoles, this is his first title.
The game itself is a twin-stick shooter that utilizes a scoreboard. According to Curve, “It takes the classic arcade arena shooters of the mid ’80s and drags them, axes flying, into the 21st century.”
In short, the title is inspired by the old school arcade games, down to the scanlines (which are optional in Iron Fisticle) themselves, making Dave’s game both a retro game and a reinvention of a classic genre.
The levels in Iron Fisticle will be procedurally generated, ensuring that you have multiple routes throughout the game. In addition, you will be able to obtain a variety of weapons, take on a host of different enemies, and engage in clever boss fights as you attempt to blast your way through the title.
