During the Nintendo Direct showcasing Hyrule Warriors, the upcoming Dynasty Warriors/Legend of Zelda hybrid, Nintendo revealed that alternate costumes for Link and Zelda would be available from various retailers that would be announced later on. Well it seems those retailers have been revealed, as GameStop, Amazon.com, and Best Buy have all revealed their retail exclusive bonuses.
Players who pre-order from GameStop will receive the Ocarina of Time pack, including the iconic and nostalgic looks for Link and Zelda from the classic 1998 N64 game. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that there are any other benefits here, unlike the special Ganondorf figure that was included with limited editions of Wind Waker HD from GameStop.
Players who pre-order from Amazon.com will receive the Twilight Princess pack, including the darker and more dramatic looking skins for Link and Zelda from the 2006 Gamecube and Wii game. In addition to the skins, Amazon offers free shipping with the purchase of the game.
Players who pre-order from Best Buy will receive the Skyward Sword pack, which will include the lighthearted and brighter looking skins for Link and Zelda from the somewhat recent Wii game of 2011. Best Buy offers free shipping as well, and those customers with a My Best Buy Gamer’s Club Unlocked membership will also receive a $12 discount.
I would’ve personally preferred to get the special collectors editions that other regions are getting, but I know I can’t wait for the game, as I enjoyed what I played during my preview of the game. Hyrule Warriors releases exclusively for the Nintendo Wii U on September 26th, 2014.
I’ve been playing video games ever since I was 4 years old, just a little over two decades ago, and since then, I’ve pretty much devoted my life to them. I love video games. They inspire me. I eventually want to make my own games for people to play and give the same spark that I was given when I was a little kid.
