2K Reveals Both Rivalries for WWE 2K15 Main Story Mode, More Rivalries Coming as DLC

Today, 2K announced the specific storylines that will be a part of the single player story mode “2K Showcase” for the WWE 2K15 video game.

One that should not be very shocking at all is the inclusion of the rivalry between Triple H, who is currently the executive vice president of talent and creative in WWE, and his best friend and one of the greatest performers in WWE history, Shawn Michaels, as they reprise their rivalry from 2002 and 2004.

The other rivalry includes John Cena, no surprise there either, but what might shock a few wrestling fans out there is that his opponent will be CM Punk, as they reprise their rivalry from 2011-2013. Yes, the same CM Punk who quit WWE after the Royal Rumble this year.

In all seriousness, these two rivalries did include some of the greatest matches in WWE history and they were perhaps some of the most intense dramas the WWE had during these time periods as well. The 2K showcase rivalries will be done through documentary-style video packages of classic WWE footage, authentic WWE Superstar commentary and cinematic cut scenes.

In total, there will be 33 matches across the rivalries. Players can also unlock new WWE Superstars, Championship belts, and alternate attires that can be used in all other WWE 2K15 game modes, if they complete bonus historical objectives, similar to the previous two WWE games.

The bigger announcement is that more 2K Showcase rivalries will be made available via downloadable content after the game releases, which would be the first time that WWE has released story mode content as DLC. I’m sure many of you are already thinking about which rivalries you would like to see in the game.

WWE 2K15 releases for the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, & PS3 on October 28, 2014 in North America and October 31 in Europe. Be sure stay tuned to gotgame.com for more information on WWE 2K15.
