PlayStation Plus Battles: NA vs. EU (Week of 8-5-14)
Road Not Taken joins PlayStation Plus in both North America and Europe.
The two regions gear up their troops as they prepare to do battle for PlayStation Plus supremacy. Which region will have the tactics and force required to obtain the land this month?
The EU starts things off, sending in six tanks (free games) in the form of Road Not Taken (PS4), FEZ (PS3/PS4/Vita), Crysis 3 (PS3), Proteus (PS3/Vita), Metrico (Vita), and LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 (Vita). In addition, they deploy an infantry unit consisting of two elite soldiers (discounted games) in an attempt to destroy NA’s base. The infantry in question are Table Top Racing (Vita, 20% discount until August 13) and The Swapper (Cross-Buy. Vita/PS3/PS4. 10% off until August 20). The full update can be found here.
North America suffers casualties from the EU’s ferocious assault, but manages to reorganize in time to send a counter attack. They match the EU’s tanks with tanks of their own in the form of Road Not Taken (PS4), FEZ (PS3/PS4/Vita), Crysis 3 (PS3), Proteus (PS3/Vita), Metrico (Vita), and Dragon’s Crown (PS3/Vita). The two tank units utterly destroy each other as NA sends in a massive infantry unit in retaliation.
This unit consists of 32 of their elite soldiers, including Angry Birds, Call of Duty, Family Guy, and even Men in Black to name a few. The full unit list can be found on NA’s official blog post.
This battle turns out to be more of a massacre as the EU is severely outnumbered, 16-1 in terms of infantry. As a result, North America claims the first victory of the PlayStation Plus War of August. Will they be able to maintain supremacy, or will the EU manage to launch a successful counter?
