Nintendo eShop update has Karts, Castles, and Robots

SuperMarioKart

This week on the Nintendo eShop, we have quite the selection of classics.  As part of the announcement of the Mario Kart 8 update yesterday, Nintendo released Super Mario Kart, but today we also get another Mega Man classic in Mega Man 5, and we also get The Mysterious Murasame Castle for the very first time in the US.  3DS owners that play the free-to-play Steel Diver: Sub Wars will also be getting an update today to add more content, as well as updates to the main game.

Wii U Virtual Console:

Super Mario Kart (Super Nintendo): Nintendo’s very first kart racer starring the famous plumber.  Play as your favorite character and use power-ups in two single player modes and in three multiplayer modes.  The release is in celebration of the series’ 22nd anniversary, which will be on August 27th. $7.99

Mega Man 5 (NES): Keeping on track with the Mega Man releases for the month, the fifth chapter of the original Mega Man series brings the battle closer to home as Mega Man fights to save the world from evil. Defeat bosses, steal their powers, and fight across 13 action-packed stages in this classic. $4.99

Cybernator (Super Nintendo): It’s the year 2065 AD and the nations of Earth have split into two major powers: the Axis and the Federation. You will have to complete mission objectives as the fight spans across Earth, the moon and the far reaches of space. $7.99

Wii U eShop Releases:

Jett Tailfin: Race to the finish as a fish in this underwater racer across 16 different nautical courses.  Up to four players can join in on the fun.  $34.99

SHUT THE BOX: A game of chance and luck, role the dice and select tiles to match that number in whatever combination you can manage.  Clear all the tiles to get a perfect game. $0.99

Wii U eShop Sales:

Internal Invasion: 60% off ($4.99 down to $1.99) until 9AM on August 8th

3DS Virtual Console:

The Mysterious Murasama Castle (NES): Play as samurai apprentice Takamaru, the same Takamaru from Takamaru’s Ninja Castle in the Wii U game Nintendo Land.  Never before released in the United States, this Legend of Zelda style adventure will have you slashing at enemies and throwing shuriken through four castles before making your way to the Murasame Castle to defeat the mysterious source of evil.  $4.99

3DS eShop Update:

Steel Diver: Sub Wars:  Premium-version players get new local Friend Battle stages, new unlockable subs and crew, and new features that make it even easier to battle online with friends. The free version now allows players to purchase subs and use a single-play coin to battle online.

3DS eShop Sales:

Starting August 12th and ending on September 2nd, there will be a sale on UFO Interactive games, including titles like Johnny Impossible, Zombie Slayer Diox, and Samurai Sword Destiny.

We’re also given a heads up as to what’s coming out in future updates, as August 14th will bring Double Dragon II to the Wii U Virtual Console, and August 21st will be the release of Life Force to the Wii U Virtual Console.
