Sony is finally adding support for 3D Blu-ray playback to the PlayStation 4 with an upcoming firmware update.

Playback of the medium has been sorely lacking on the console, especially considering it is available on the PS3. This also comes on the heels of Microsoft announcing the other day that playback of 3D Blu-rays will also be possible with an upcoming update on the Xbox One.

Sony’s Firmware 1.75 update which was effectively announced via Twitter, has no official release date so we’ll just have to keep an eye out for it.
