Video Games Live returns to Comic Con next week

vglToday it was revealed that Video Games Live, the immersive concert event that features music from the most popular video games of all time, will be returning to Comic Con on Thursday, July 24. They went on to reveal their lineup and special guests that will appear at the Embarcadero Marina Park South, which is right behind the Convention Center where Comic Con is currently being held.

The concert will include the world premiere of the new Blizzard Entertainment franchise, Heroes of the Storm, conducted by Glenn Stafford. In addition, Blizzard’s upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Warlords of Draenor, will be conducted by Russell Brower.

Next up will be none other than the League of Legends theme with Riot Games composers Christian Linke and Michael Barry.

A duet will follow, with Jillian Aversa (known for work in games like Halo and God of War) and Andrew Aversa (known for Soul Calibur V and Street Fighter II: Remix) will perform their arrangement of Final Fantasy VI’s Aria Di Mezzo Carattere (Opera Theme).

Daisuke Amaya will proceed to appear during a performance of the music from the popular DS title, Cave Story.

Frank Klepacki joins the symphony on guitar in order to perform his music from Command & Conquer: Red Alert afterwards.

Frank is followed by Garry Schyman, who will be conducting his award winning music from the popular title, BioShock.

Critical Hit, a popular video game cover band, will also perform along with Blizzard composer Jason Hayes and TIna Guo.

There will be many more things in store, such as a special 30th Anniversary Tetris Opera celebration featuring Jillian Aversa, Viking Jesus, and fan favorites like Chrono Trigger, Metal Gear Solid, and Castlevania.

Before the concert a costume contest will be held and you may be able to pick up some games courtesy of GameStop. Afterwards you can attend a meet and greet session where you can visit all of the special guests (providing, of course, you have a ticket to the event).

Will you be attending the event?
