LetterHero arrives on iOS

letter hero

Today the free brainchild of a Silicon Valley insider, LetterHero, has arrived on iOS. This game challenges you to spell words from horizontally scrolling letters (from right to left or left to right) while raising the stakes with power-ups and achievements.

The game has a simple goal: Achieve the highest score you possibly can in the time allowed. This may sound simple, but the game’s countdown timer and power-ups make it more of a challenge than you may expect. Some powers include slowing down (and even speeding up) time, wildcards, turning  letters upside down, freezing time, and score multipliers. The variety of powers means that going for a “Mystery” power-up could save you or destroy your score.

Like most free-to-play titles, you can opt to purchase the full version for $1.99, gaining access to the Wordlist (a collection of all words played) and removing ads. Unlike most of those titles, however, if you can hit two scores, you can gain these premium features without spending a dime. The scores you need are 200 for the Wordlist and 350 to disable ads.
“Skilled players should be able to get more out of the game,” says Multiple Codes founder Kwesi Buabeng. “Knowing that a few of our players were able to hit 350 points in a single game and disable ads would actually make me quite happy. In the end, LetterHero was created to deliver something new to word games – and there’s no better way to do so than by rewarding our best players.”

Will you take on the challenge?
