Last night the 2014 Developer Industry Excellence Awards were held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton, United Kingdom. During this event, several stars of game development from around the UK and Europe gathered to honour the winners of this year’s Develop Industry Excellence Awards.

The Best Engine category included some stiff competition for the Unity game engine, including Unreal Engine 4, CryEngine, Project Anarchy, and GameMaker. In the end, however, Unity managed to walk away with the prize from the only peer-voted competition that allows UK and European developers to focus purely on creativity, teamwork, and inspiring innovation.
