First Augmented Reality TCG arrives in US
Today the very first augmented reality trading card game, DRAKERZ: Confrontation, has arrived in the US for PC. This title, which is free to play (you will have to purchase cards, however, the free part comes in the client and actually playing other people with the cards you own), is already a rather large success throughout Europe.
The game utilizes a patented augmented reality engine to allow players, known as “Drakerz” in the game, to collect physical premium cards. These are then shown via webcams and are used to call forth the legendary creatures called “Drakos” into an arena in which they fight virtually.
For those concerned about having to manage point scoring and even card cost, you can put those concerns away. These are handled completely by the computer, allowing you to focus solely on combat and your strategies.
Benoit Coupez, Peoleo Entertainment’s CEO, stated, “After the successful launch last year in Europe, DRAKERZ: Confrontation is ready to reach a new audience of U.S. gamers and trading card enthusiasts. Players will experience DRAKERZ: Confrontation as it was meant to be played with physical trading cards powering exciting immersive battles via augmented reality.”
If this sounds like your kind of game, you can learn more and purchase cards at the official website.
