Witcher: Battle Arena brings MOBAs mobile.

CD PROJEKT RED the developers of the popular Witcher franchise, as well as Fuero Games, were proud to announce that they’re stepping into the world of free mobile gaming today with a new MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) title set in the Witcher universe.

This title, known as The Witcher Battle Arena, aims to provide a fast, fun, and accessible MOBA experience to mobile gamers everywhere. It was developed specifically with mobile devices in mind, thus allowing it to combine accessibility and a balanced learning curve with the limitless array of skill-based strategies that you can deploy during battle.

Speaking on why they decided to venture into the mobile arena, Adam Badowski, head of the CDP RED studio, stated, “With mobile devices as powerful as they are and the graphics they offer being so beautiful, we can finally plunge into mobile gaming and deliver our take on free gaming to gamers worldwide.”

Inside the game’s arena, six heroes will battle it out to the death. They have a simple goal: Capture and hold three conquest points in the short, intense, action-packed skirmishes. The game allows you to become legendary characters, such as the witcher Letho of Gulet, the dwarven adventurer Zoltan Chivay, or even the mighty sorceress Phillippa Eilhart as you customize each character to your exact needs.

Tadek Zieliński, Creative Analyst at CDP RED, stated, “In a world full of enter-your-PIN-number-to-win mechanics, what we value above all is well-balanced and honest gameplay. Battle Arena is all about skill and dedication, and we’ve spent hundreds of hours planning to make it a paragon of fairness in mobile gaming.”

The title is currently being developed by Fuero Games, who are working off the former studio’s design. It is scheduled to launch in Q4, 2014 on Android, iOS, Windows Phone, and Windows tablets, and both studios intend to add in updates to expand the game in terms of gameplay modes, characters, and more.

Stanislaw Fiedor, CEO of Fuero, stated, “The whole team here at Fuero Games is really excited at the prospect of developing a game for such a big and engaged community as that of The Witcher. I’m convinced that our skill in mobile multiplayer game development, combined with the creative flair of CD PROJEKT RED, will produce an experience Witcher fans will want to come back to again and again.”

Will this be a mobile MOBA that you’ll be trying out?
