Sniper Elite 3 developer Rebellion has released an official statement in which they clarified why several owners of the PC version for the latest Sniper Elite game in the series found their game deactivated out of the blue.
Over 7,000 Sniper Elite 3 keys were stolen and resold by over 50 third-party retailers without the express consent from Rebellion or publisher 505 Games.
“To clarify, aside from Steam itself, digital keys for Sniper Elite 3 can be bought from the below list of licensed partners. We can confirm that we have not revoked any keys sent to these companies, nor have they reported any problems to us. This is the full list of companies that get their keys direct from us for digital sale – we do not sell to anyone else.” the company said.
