EA Sports has announced that the Boston Bruin’s Center has been selected by fan vote to grace the cover of NHL 15, which releases later this year for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3.

This marks the first title of the franchise to be released for the new generation of consoles, and after ten million votes from NHL fans around the world, Bergeron took the top spot and will be the first cover athlete for the new generation of the series, managing to beat P.K. Subban of the Montreal Canadiens.

“Being featured on the cover of NHL 15 is a dream come true,” says Bergeron, who is more than happy to take the spot. “The fact that the cover is selected entirely by fans is an incredible feeling. The passion and support from hockey fans, especially Bruins fans, is unlike any other sport and I’m so grateful to everyone who voted for me.”

NHL 15 will feature all new physics and more realistic animations for the new generation of consoles and will even receive exclusive content that won’t be on the previous generation of consoles. NHL 15 releases on September 9^th in North America, and just three days later for PAL regions.
