bitSmith Games has released a new video today that showcases one of the core mechanics in their upcoming title, FranknJohn, which is currently in the middle of its Kickstarter campaign.
The game, which is a “randomly generated, perma-death labyrinth of doom”, has been called “3D Binding of Isaac meets Tim Burton,” and features dynamic, fast-paced gameplay. The reason for the title, FranknJohn, is the character in the game that you will be controlling.
This character is a child that has been reanimated. He possesses the body of Frank and the head of John, which are connected by a chain that you can swing around to smash into enemies. You can equip items known as Skullcaps, thus changing the game play drastically (just see the above video for a demonstration).
The campaign only has 11 days left and is standing (at the time of this article) at £9,828 of the team’s £30,000 goal. Will it manage to be successful?
