Prepare to enter the deadly Castle Shadowgate.

If you’re wanting to get an early peek at what lurks within Castle Shadowgate, development team Zojoi has some good news for you. Along with their friends, Reverb Triple XP, they have revealed that the Closed Beta access of Shadowgate begins today.

In addition to this early access, they have released a brand new trailer, which can be seen below:

Karl Roelofs, Zojoi’s Design Director, stated, “Launching the Closed Beta of Shadowgate is an exciting step for us as we give gamers an early taste of the bold adventure that awaits. The new graphics and eerie music create an atmosphere that transports gamers from their everyday lives into this harrowing dark adventure that’s both classic and completely new. Of course, the great part is that players will quickly learn that this new castle is as deadly as the last.”

The game is slated for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android late this summer at a price of $19.99. If you want a head start, however, then you can pre-order the game for a 25% discount ($14.99), and even choose one of two tiers (which each costs a bit more). The first tier is the Adventurer tier, which gives access to the full game, wallpapers, and a digital Shadowgate calendar. This tier costs $19..99 ($24.99 originally).

The next tier is called the Hero tier. This includes everything in the Adventurer tier, a digital soundtrack, a digital art book, Beta tester access (complete with in-game credits), and access to the final version of Shadowgate a week before the official launch. This tier is priced at $24.99 ($29.99 originally).
