A Tale of Internet Spaceships premieres on July 11
A shot from the upcoming documentary.
The indie documentary about the online science Fiction game, EVE Online, will premiere on July 11, 2014, Sorgenfri Productions has revealed today.
The documentary, titled A Tale of Internet Spaceships, was filmed during a fan convention in Reykjavik back in April 2013, and aims to give viewers an in-depth look at what, exactly, makes EVE Online special and why people tend to devote so much of their lives to it. The exploration of a video game community investigates the relationship between EVE’s dedicated player base and CCP Games, the title’s developer.
The documentary also records one of the most tumultuous times in the game’s lifespan, which was the release of the Incarna expansion. This expansion later turned out to be one of the most important moments in the history of online role-playing games.
Though the premiere will be held at STPLN, Malmo, Sweden, the film will also be published for free to major video sites such as YouTube and Vimeo.
