Today the folks over at 10tons have revealed that their top-down shooter, Crimsonland, has arrived on Steam. Said the company’s CEO, Tero Alatalo, “We’re thrilled to release Crimsonland on Steam and soon on Playstation 4. There’s plenty of potential audience for hardcore shooters on both platforms and with a product as fun and unique as Crimsonland we’re confident we can serve a big part of that audience.”

For those unaware, Crimsonland is a top-down shooter in which the player must fight off a relentless onslaught of mutant lizards, giant spiders, zombies, and other creatures. It features, as the name suggests, a huge amount of gore, gibs, dozens of weapons, a RPG-like perk system, and local co-op supporting up to four players.

The game is a remastered version of the studio’s first title that was originally released in 2003. The new version features HD graphics, new content, Steam support, and other enhancements. If you’ve bought the classic game then you can apply for a free Steam key by emailing your proof of purchase to crimsonland.classic@10tons.com.
