For PlayStation owners that didn’t get a chance to get in on the closed beta of PlayStation Now, there is some good news, as Sony announced last night that the open beta for PS Now, the cloud-based gaming service, will be available to U.S. and Canadian users on July 31.
The service will then expand to the PS3 in September, followed by PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV by the end of the year.
Sony says it has been doing a private beta on the PS3 and recently with the PS4 to get an idea of how the service works on both platforms, while gaining user feedback from those in the closed beta.
The company is still trying to figure out how it will price it’s rentals, based on length of period, but publishers and developers will ultimately decide the price points for their games.
