E3 2014: Ubisoft Surprises With Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot appeared at the end of the Ubisoft press conference to announce, one more game. Considering Ubisoft already showed off plenty of Tom Clancy’s The Division, it was surprising to see another Tom Clancy announced today. However, when you factor in that it has been six years since we’ve seen a Rainbow Six game, it makes much more sense. Even though it was pre-alpha multiplayer footage, the gameplay shown was pretty impressive. Robbers are shown boarding up rooms and covering up windows to prevent people from trying to save a female hostage. The Rainbow Six team constantly plans how to get into the building and take out the robbers, while also trying to save the woman. What ensues was hectic, explosive, and pretty awesome as well. Sorry, but I can’t do the footage justice with words.
Here is the gameplay trailer:
The only thing announced after the trailer was shown, was that Ubisoft will be doing a LIVE demo at the Ubisoft booth, but there was no announcement about a release time frame at all. I would imagine it will be on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
