StarCraft II competition takes Atlanta’s center stage

starcraft iiRed Bull Media House revealed more information about their 2014 Red Bull Battle Grounds circuit, which will take place between July 11 and July 13 in Atlanta, Georgia.

This is the only Atlanta-based event this year that falls within the sanctioning body’s WCS (World Championship of StarCraft) series, allowing spectators to witness as professional StarCraft players battle it out in hopes of making their eSports career dreams a reality.

In addition, this will be the first spectator event in the history of Red Bull eSports that boasts an open registration format. This means that up-and-coming amateurs will have a fighting chance to experience a taste of the professional gaming life, with Sean Plott serving as the Caster of Ceremonies.

As 128 competitors enter the arena, they will have two goals in mind. The first is to be crowned as the Red Bull Battle Grounds Atlanta champion, with the second goal being to obtain one of the eight spots at the Red Bull Battle Grounds Grand Finals. This event will be held on September 20 and 21, 2014 in Washington DC.

If you’re interested in the event, you can pick up a ticket. These are priced at $15 for a single day entry and $35 for a weekend price. If you happen to be local to the area then you can enjoy a bit of a home turf advantage with a single day ticket costing $10 and the weekend ticket costing $25.

Who will be crowned the champion of this year’s event?
