Seattle Seahawks DB Richard Sherman has won the Madden NFL 15 Cover Vote, as announced earlier today.

Sherman beat out Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton in the finals, which along with the entire contest, was voted on by fans.

Sherman  beat out Alshon Jeffrey (CHI), Jimmy Graham (NO) and Colin Kaepernick (SF) en route to the finals.  According to EA, over 10 million votes were cast throughout the contest.

Madden NFL 15 will feature improved defensive mechanics, according to the publisher, while the game will also feature a new “broadcast inspired presentation” and “an all-new crowd-sourced recommendation engine.”

The game is set for an Aug. 26 release for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3.  In Europe, the game will release on Aug. 29.
