Shield is NVIDIA’s solution to handheld gaming on an Android powered device. While it’s out for almost one year, the handheld console isn’t as near as successful as NVIDIA predicted.
But in the past few months, a few interesting game have appeared for the console, games that might get a few people to buy it. Following the release of Portal, Valve is ready to release Half-Life 2 on the portable console.
The game will be available through Google Play for $9,99, and will only run on NVIDIA Shield (not on any Android device).
“Nvidia has done a remarkable job bringing both Half-Life 2 and Portal to Shield,” said Doug Lombardi, vice president of marketing at Valve.
“We’re playing both games here on our Shields and fans of both franchises can expect the same gameplay they’ve come to love on the PC.”
