Sony to sell all of its shares in Square Enix
Sony has just announced that in the next few days they will be selling all of its shares in Square Enix. It appears that the company has made an agreement with SSMBC Nikko Securities Inc., one of the biggest brokerage firms in Japan, to transfer all 9,520,000 shares owned by them.
The transfer will result in around $47 million in profits for Sony’s Q1 2014. This decision comes somehow out of the blue, and for now we can only assume why the company took such a decision, as an official statement is missing.
