Microsoft thinks about making Fable, Age of Empires, Gears of War, and Forza into TV series

Halo receives a six episode TV series.

Lately Microsoft’s Xbox team has been betting pretty heavily on television. For those wondering what I mean by this, the company has decided to commit to six original TV shows.

These will include a Halo series from Stephen Spielberg, a robot thriller, Humans, a reality show program focusing on street soccer ahead of the World Cup, and Live coverage of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. That’s not all, however, as it’s recently been revealed that Xbox Entertainment Studios has over a dozen projects in development at this moment.
In addition to a pilot for an unscripted series starring Paul de Gelder called Fearless, they have decided to produce a comedy sketch show with JASH, a comedy collective founded by Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, Tim and Eric, and Reggie Watts. Another project that the studio is working on is a hybrid stop-motion show. This project will be produced with Seth Green’s Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, which many will recognize as the studio behind the longest running stop-motion show on television, Robot Chicken.
Will their bets pay off?
