Grand Theft Auto Online receives Spring updates
Today Rockstar has revealed that three major updates are coming to Grand Theft Auto Online in Spring. Starting next week we’ll be getting the ability to create our own Capture missions (providing you’re a member of the Creator community), but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Rockstar has also revealed a new “High Life Update”. This update, also launching in Spring, will let you expand your foothold in Los Santos with some brand new high-end apartment options, a powerful new gun called the Bullpup Rifle, and several new wardrobe items. That’s not all, however, as you’ll also be receiving four new vehicles including the Dinka Thrust motorcycle and a Super class car called the Pegassi Zentorno.
If that’s not enough for you, this specific update will also allow you to own two properties (and yes, these include garages) at once. Finally there will be new Jobs available as well as a brand new Mental State statistic, which will allow you to see what kind of psychopaths you’re playing with.
The third Spring update is none other than Heists, which allows you to team up with your choice of your most trusted crew or random mercenaries. Once teamed up you will work together to pull off new Heist missions for both glory and profit.
These aren’t the only things that the company has in store, however. You’ve been asking for it and Rockstar has been listening. Future updates, based on the community’s feedback, will include a “Non-Contact” option for Races, allowing you to play standard Races without collisions between player vehicles. They note that you will be able to collide with non-player traffic, structures, and the scenery itself.
Next up you will be able to call up Lester and have him get his cop pals to turn a blind eye to any crime you may (or may not) be committing for a short period of time. This could make the life of many criminals in the game quite a bit easier.
If you’re one of those leaving feedback on Jobs, but would like something in return, then you’ll be in luck. The company is planning to give out bonus RP every time you like or even dislike content once you’ve tried it out.
Next up is an increase in GTA cash payouts whenever you complete Parachute, Races, Deathmatches, and/or LTS Jobs when there are less than 4 participants.
Rockstar is proving their commitment to target cheaters and keep the game fair. They are currently closing known RP exploits and plan to adjust the RP totals of players that they know have gained illegitimate RP by cheating. They assure us that the RP will only be adjusted if you participated in “Nefarious behavior” such as mods, hacks, DNS redirects, and manipulation of cloud files.
Finally, if you were one of those that had upgraded personal vehicles prior to the Title Update 1.10 and could only sell it for $10,000, you may be happy to know that this bug is another thing on Rockstar’s list.
Are there any improvements you’d like to see in the game?
