Mercenary Kings joins PS+ lineup.
If you’ve been waiting to hear what you can look forward to from Sony’s PlayStation Plus service in April (and you live in North America), today’s the day you find out. It turns out that we’ll be getting six pretty decent games next month.
The game to kick things off will be a PlayStation 4 title called Mercenary Kings. This is a 2D action game that puts you in a role of one of the most skilled mercenaries on the planet. Your comrades have fallen and an organization by the name of CLAW has taken over an island-wide lab, so it’s all up to you to stop them. Well, mostly, as you will have backup, mainly a bunch of rogue geniuses which will help you craft and customize weapons and armor.
Next up is a PlayStation 3 title and the second game in the popular Batman: Arkham series, Arkham City. As Batman, you will explore the super-prison located in the heart of Arkham, attempting to protect innocent lives.
The third game we’ll be getting is another PlayStation 3 title, Stealth Inc. This stealth platformer has its share of brutal hazards, ruthless enemies, and fiendish puzzles. You’re armed with nothing more than your wits and some Stealthing Goggles and must sneak your way through the deadly facility. Can you survive?
Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse is the fourth game in the lineup, and is another PS3 game. As you can guess, this game is a reimagining of the classic SEGA title of the same name.
The fifth title brings us into PlayStation Vita territory with Velocity Ultra. This game, the developers claim, improve on the original release (which won Gamer’s Choice and Game of the Year awards) in every way, except for the music as they believed they just couldn’t improve that.
The final free April game is also for the Vita. This game, Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate HD places the burden of defending Tikiman and his offspring. You will place weapon towers at key points in the landscape in order to destroy the invaders. How do you create more towers? By collecting treasure along the way, of course!
