Age of Mythology: Extended Edition was revealed by an alpaca puppet

Puppet reveals Age of Mythology: Extended Edition.

As downright odd as that headline may seem, it is nothing but the truth. During a stream of Age of Empires II: HD Edition yesterday, a puppet named Alfred (and his handler) appeared on the screen.

The puppet proceeded to whack his head on a keyboard several times, after which an image appeared, revealing Age of Mythology: Extended Edition. Though several gamers viewed this with some doubt (it breaks the traditional pattern of game teasing, after all), one of the developers of Age of Empires 2: HD Edition went on Reddit and confirmed that the title was indeed being worked on.

Although no other information has been revealed, it would likely be a safe bet to say that the game will feature some new content, as evidenced by the word “Extended” in the game’s title. If it was going to simply be a HD remake, it would have had a similar title to Age of Empires 2: HD Edition.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

Thanks, PC Gamer.
