The co-op challenge editor for Ryse: Son of Rome has been shelved.
Microsoft confirmed the cancellation with Polygon.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to cease development on Ryse: Son of Rome’s challenge editor and focus on improving and expanding fans’ experience with the game through both free content updates and purchased add-on packs,” a spokesperson said. “We look forward to sharing more details soon.”
The mode, which used the SmartGlass app, would have allowed players to quickly put together challenges and objectives in the gladiator mode.
While it’s not exactly sure why the editor was canceled, Polygon does note that sources said it was partially due to the disappointing reviews for the game.
