Why do more PlayStation 4 games run in 1080p compared to the Xbox One? Jean-Baptiste Bolcato, senior producer at Rebellion Games and Sniper Elite 3 developer, told GamingBolt that part of the problem is Xbox One’s eSRAM.
“I think eSRAM is easy to use. The only problem is…Part of the problem is that it’s just a little bit too small to output 1080p within that size. It’s such a small size within there that we can’t do everything in 1080p with that little buffer of super-fast RAM.”
Bolcato said that the development process for the Xbox One will get easier in the future and it’s in a constant state of improving. But, according to him, the PS4 is “a bit more powerful”, though the Xbox One is going to catch up in the end.
Rebellion Games is currently working on Sniper Elite 3 and is targeting 1080p/60fps for both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One versions of the game.
