Strider to launch on February 18
Today Capcom announced that Strider will officially release on Sony’s PlayStation 3 and 4 (via PSN) for $14.99. It will then release on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One (via XBLA), as well as PC (via Steam) on February 19.
In addition to this announcement, they revealed that two new Challenge Modes have been added to the game. The first mode is called Beacon Run and is a “speed run” race style mode that challenges gamers to hit consecutive checkpoints while slicing through enemies in the shortest amount of time possible.
The second mode revealed is called Survival mode, which tests how well you can survive with a variety of different item and ability load outs as progressively diverse and difficult enemy waves assault you.
Your scores in these two modes, as well as your Story Mode times and status results, will be tracked on global online leaderboards, which the company believes adds an “addictive layer of depth and replayability”.
Finally, as you uncover vestiges of those Striders who fell against the Grand Master Meio’s evil empire, you will unlock new sets of costumes for Strider Hiryu. As you unlock more costumes, you will be able to create your own unique Strider character.
