Drakengard 3 will feature three different pre-order tiers.
For fans of the Drakengard series, the news that the third game in the franchise will be arriving in May is good news indeed. Specifically, the game will be arriving on May 20, 2014 exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
One of the interesting things about the game itself is that Square has decided to set up three different tiers for those who pre-order the game. The first tier, which expires on March 4, will unlock the Japanese voices in-game. The second and third tiers have yet to be announced, and we will update this story as they are revealed.
In addition, Square has announced the release of the Collector’s Edition version of the game. There will be a mere 5,000 copies of this edition and it will retail at $79.99. The Collector’s Edition will include all three tiers we’ve talked about, the full novella, an official soundtrack CD sampler, an exclusive poster, and three bits of DLC.
The first DLC is a stage that will put you in control of Zero’s sister, One. The second is the Caim Costume (for those unaware, Caim was the protagonist of the original Drakengard). Equipping this costume will decrease your stamina consumption by half when you utilize a skill. Finally, your dragon friend will receive a bit of DLC in the Giant Baby Hat.
