Today Blizzard made an announcement that may have surprised, but pleased, many gamers. To be specific, they revealed that the custom maps of StarCraft II will be completely free for all players starting today.
For example, if you ended up creating a custom map in the game, you could invite everybody to play it. And we do mean everybody. Reports state that even those who do not own StarCraft would be able to play your new map if you wished for them to.
This is certainly welcome news, and may even be news that encourages more people to try out the game, assuming they have friends that make custom maps and invite them, that is.
What do you think of Blizzard’s decision? Will making the custom maps for StarCraft II successfully lure in more gamers?
