Some PlayStation 4 users have been reporting an annoying problem on the system. This problem, CE-34878-O, results in gamers having corrupted save data, thus having to restart the games they were enjoying.

Sony has assured gamers, stating, “We are aware of the cases and we appreciate your patience while we investigate.” Hopefully they’ll be able to find a fix soon, as quite a few gamers seem to be experiencing this issue, as evidenced by this thread on the Official PlayStation Forum.

The issue seems to be mainly affecting users in Europe, and it appears to be a hardware fault, as a few replies in the aforementioned thread have stated that they’ve not experienced an issue with corrupt saves after obtaining a brand new console. In addition, considering the corrupt saves are happening across a variety of games and publishers, it seems unlikely that it would be glitches in the games themselves.

What do you think of this issue? Have you experienced it, and if so, have you found a way around it (aside from getting a new console)?

Thanks, Eurogamer.
