2K announces Evolve, from Left 4 Dead developers

by on January 14, 2014

2K and Turtle Rock Studios, creators of the Left 4 Dead, have today announced the development of Evolve, a new multiplayer shooter, which just made its appearance in Game Informer magazine.

The game is slated for a fall release on the Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4, and blends both co-op and competitive multiplayer on teams of four, against a single, player-controlled monster. Set on a futuristic alien planet, gamers will jump into Pv1 matches in the first-person when controlling one of four hunters, or in the third person when controlling the monster, which includes Goliath (pictured above).

“Our philosophy is to build incredibly fun game experiences that we can’t find anywhere else,” said Chris Ashton, co-founder and design director at Turtle Rock Studios. “Evolve’s co-op vs. lone wolf formula has created some of the most intense multiplayer matches we’ve ever experienced.”

Evolve is available for pre-order beginning today and those who do so will be rewarded with the Monster Expansion Pack, which includes the Savage Goliath skin at launch and a new monster.
