The GotGame 2013 Best Games in the Whole Entire World Awards (Part 2)

It’s tough to make a great game with an intense story without great characters, and the second entry in The Best Games in the Whole Entire World focuses on the great characters we met in 2013.

Best New Character

Thank heaven for little girls… and lawyers and detectives and criminals, for these were the people we met in 2013 for the very first time, but won’t soon forget. Many of these debuts made strong showings in the other character awards, but amongst the n00bz, who had the best year ever?

2013’s Best New Character in the Whole Entire World is… Ellie from The Last of Us.

An orphan in a post-apocalyptic world, Ellie is the only known case of immunity to Cordyceps Brain Infection. But more than just a lengthy escort quest, Ellie becomes the second protagonist with Joel in one of the best games of 2013. Spunky, quick, and hiding her fears from the world, Ellie stays brave not because she wants to, but because it’s the only way to survive. We become quickly attached to this little scamp, and in the end… well… just… well, if you haven’t played it yet, stop waiting.

2nd Best: Bigby Wolf from The Wolf Among Us.

3rd Best: Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite.
