DICE won’t be releasing a new Battlefield in 2014, according to EA.

Speaking with gaming business analyst Michael Pachter, EA has stated that any new Battlefield game in 2014 wouldn’t be developed by DICE.

According to Mr. Pachter, EA management stated, “Although they have not yet announced a version of Battlefield for FY:15,” Pachter wrote in a note to investors and media, “they confirmed that our understanding is spot on and that if a version of Battlefield were to be released in FY:15, it would be developed by a studio other than DICE.” FY, for those wondering, stands for “Fiscal Year,” and FY:15 would be from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015.

This may not be too much of a surprise, of course, considering that DICE is still working on fixing Battlefield IV, as well as creating new DLC for the game. And that’s not even taking into account two other games that they are working on, namely Star Wars: Battlefront and Mirror’s Edge 2.

Do you believe that EA will stick another team on making a new Battlefield game next year?

Thanks, Kotaku.
