Nintendo may have struggles with the Wii U, but a premiere coming up at VGX (formerly the Spike Video Game Awards) and the powerhouse of Super Mario 3D World should help the console’s holiday season, and the 3DS continues to steamroll the PlayStation Vita. But what of the other console? You know, the cheese-looking one?
Nintendo has a pair of bundles for the little sister to the 3DS, the Nintendo 2DS. Complete with all the functionality of the 3DS minus the autostereoscopic 3D, the sturdier, non-hinged portable console will be bundled with digital copies of powerhouses in their own right, Pokemon X and Y.
The Pokemon X bundle will pair a red Nintendo 2DS with the game digitally pre-installed, while the Pokemon Y bundle will have the game loaded onto an SD card with a blue 2DS. Both bundles retail for $149.99, but in true Pokemon fashion, the bundles will be split up – the X bundles can only be purchased at Target stores, and the Y bundles can only be purchased at Toys R Us locations.
