You can access the Xbox One’s dev tools

Apparently it’s possible to access the developer tools on the Xbox One, as a reddit user has come across the method of doing so. Microsoft had previously stated that every Xbox One is capable of being a dev kit, though the feature doesn’t seem to be ready for prime time yet.  Still, there’s a way to get in there if you’re curious to see what it looks like.

If you’re in the console’s system menu, you can press the left bumper, right bumper, left trigger and right trigger in that exact order -afterward, you’ll see the dev screen.

Still, we’d advise everyone to not get adventurous and mess around with the settings as you don’t want to accidentally brick your system.

A Microsoft rep was quoted by Kotaku regarding the dev tools by saying:

“Changing the settings in this menu is only intended for developers for Xbox One, and this alone does not turn the console into a development kit. We strongly advise consumers against changing these settings as it could result in their Xbox One becoming unusable. Customers who have put their consoles into this developer setting can revert by restoring factory defaults under Settings / System, select Restore Factory Defaults.”

So there you have it.  Have a gander if you’re curious but don’t go making any changes.
