LEGO: The Hobbit videogame announced
Today WB, TT, and The LEGO Group have announced that they are working on a brand new LEGO game taking place in the Lord of the Rings universe.
This game, LEGO: The Hobbit, will be available in 2014 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PC, and Mac. As players join Bilbo, Gandalf, Thorin, and the reas in their adventures toward the Dwarven Kingdom of Erebor, they will undertake quests throughout the realm of Middle Earth.
Tom Stone, Managing Director of TT Games, stated, We are thrilled to depict the characters and environments of Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth in LEGO form with the LEGO The Hobbit videogame. Our family-friendly take on these thrilling adventures will have kids and parents playing and laughing together as they build and explore in LEGO Middle-earth.”
In the upcoming game, players will be able to choose their favorite Hobbit characters, from Bilbo and Gandalf to any of the dwarves. Each one will have his own special ability. For example, Bombur can be utilized as a trampoline so that his companions can “belly-bounce” out of danger. Throughout your journey, you will enter several key locations from the movies, such as Bag End and Bilbo’s Hobbit hole.
As you travel through the world, you will solve puzzles, undertake Treasure Quests, and battle with Orcs, Trolls, and even worse things that inhabit Middle Earth. You will also have the ability to mine for gems and discover loot from fallen foes. Utilizing supplies, you will be able to craft magical items and build immense LEGO structures.
