Sony has announced today that sales of the PlayStation 4 have already surpassed 1 million units in North America, in 24 hours at that.
The PS4 released on Nov. 15 in the U.S. and Canada, while the console hits Europe and Latin America later this year.
“PS4 was designed with an unwavering commitment to gamers, and we are thrilled that consumer reaction has been so phenomenal,” said Andrew House, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. “Sales remain very strong in North America, and we expect continued enthusiasm as we launch the PlayStation 4 in Europe and Latin America on November 29. We are extremely grateful for the passion of PlayStation fans and thank them for their continued support.”
For those still looking to pick one up in the U.S., you’ll want to be patient as sales for the console online appear to be sold out everywhere, unless of course you’re willing to pony up a little more than the $399 retail price, for snatching one up on eBay.
Stay tuned to GotGame, as we’ll be posting reviews of the PS4 launch titles within the next few days. Did you manage to pick up a PS4?
