Sony holds PS4 launch event, brings out more PS4s to NYC
If you were one of those who were unable to preorder a PlayStation 4, Sony is making an additional 444 units available for sale at The Standard, High Line hotel in New York City. This is located at 848 Washington St, and the event launches on midnight of November 15.
Sony stresses that cash will not be accepted at this event, only credit cards will be. If you’re one of those that don’t really care very much for the console until the bugs have been hammered out, you may still be interested in going to the hotel, as there will be various other activities.
These include an arcade with up to 30 kiosks, a giant interactive lighting installation, which will transform the north and east sides of the hotel, and images depicting the creative process of creating games on the north side of the hotel, which starts on Thursday.
In addition, there will be several ad-hoc PlayStation 4 games popping up all around the hotel with the developers and producers actually playing the games they helped create. If you’re lucky, you will have the chance to meet and possibly even play with these developers and producers.
Finally, a largeart installation in the central plaza will showcase content and art jams. The activities wrap up with the live Spike TV broadcast at 11:00 PM Eastern and the sale of the first PlayStation 4 at midnight.
Will you be joining in on the festivities?
