The internet is now almost full of PlayStation 4 reviews. As the embargo for both the console and it’s launch games has ended, almost every major publication has started posting their reviews for the upcoming next-gen console.
Most of them are positive, I can’t really recall one review to be entirely bad but there is something that has raised a tiny red flag for me. Almost nobody (from any kind of publication) gave an actual grade to the console (example: 9 out of 10), and this is quite a new thing to this industry.
There are two possibilities I could’ve think of. Either Sony doesn’t allow publications to really give a grading on a normal scale or the writers don’t want to give a final score for a product that has just been released and it hasn’t really shown us everything in terms of games.
Why would Sony want this? Maybe you can guys figure this out for me.
If we look back at Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, we can notice that both consoles have some sort of grading on more than half of the online publications.
Will this also be the case with Xbox One? I sure hope not. Because if this happens, the general consumer will not be able to compare the two consoles, unless he has some basic knowledge in console gaming.
What are your opinions on this matter?
