New update allows you to combine your Wii U and 3DS eShop funds
During today’s Nintendo Direct, the company revealed a feature that many Wii U and 3DS gamers have been wanting for quite a while. This is the option to combine the funds in each eShop into one.
This new functionality will require gamers to utilize a Nintendo Network ID, which isn’t currently required to purchase items on your 3DS. They go on to state that players who wish to download free software and demos from the 3DS eShop will need to create a Nintendo Network ID once the system update has been released, but state that paid software still will not require this ID.
They go on to warn gamers that only one NNID may be associated with a 3DS system, and that a single account cannot be duplicated across muliple 3DS systems. If a new ID is associated with a 3DS already, players will be unable to combine balances with a Wii U eShop account.
Finally, Nintendo also announced that the upcoming system update will add Miiverse support for the 3DS.
