iPad mini with Retina now available online

After teasing fans last month about the release of the iPad mini with Retina display (aka iPad mini 2), by only offering a “late November” release window, Apple has today officially launched the newest tablet via its online store, as well as through various online retailers and partners such as Best Buy and AT&T.

The iPad mini with Retina now has the same high resolution screen (2048 x 1536) as the iPad Air, though with a higher ppi count at 326, which released a few weeks ago, and also shares the A7 64-bit processor and M7 motion processor.

The FaceTime camera can take 1.8 MP photos and do 720p HD video and includes Backside illumination. The rear facing camera uses a 5 MP iSight camera and can record in 1080p.

The Wi-Fi only models start at $399 for the 16GB version, $499 for 32GB, $599 for 64GB and $699 for 128GB. For the Wi-Fi plus cellular models, they start at $529 for 16GB, $629 for 32GB, $729 for 64GB and $829 for for 128GB model.

It looks like trying to order one online right now will force you to wait it out a few days as delays are already starting to occur, so if you’re in the market for one, better start ordering as soon as you can.
