The Indie spacefaring simulation FTL is getting a n upgrade in 2014.
This news came from the game’s developer, Subset Games, who announced that this beefed-up version will include new weapoins, drone classes, and equipment for your ship. In addition, there will be a brand new sector to explore with brand new events written by Tom Jubert (the original FTL scribe) and guest writer Chris Avellone from Obsidian.
The content will be given as a free update to those that already own the game, and the Advanced Edition will be available on iPad next year. Both the update and port will launch at teh same time, according to the developers.
For those unaware, FTL: Faster Than Light is a roguelike. This means that (after you select your ship and crew) you will be navigating randomly generated sections of uncharted space, dealing with space bandits and routine ship-to-ship combat.
What are your thoughts on the original and/or the update/Advanced Edition version of the game?
