Valve has announced that there are now 65 million Steam accounts worldwide.
The latest number is a growth of 30 percent, according to the company.
Steam has more than 3,000 games on the service, and has been around for 10 years this year. Currently, Valve is working on the Steam Machines and the new SteamOS software, and Family Sharing is currently in the beta.
“The main goal of Steam has always been to increase the quality of the user’s experience by reducing the distance between content creators and their audience,” Valve co-founder and president Gabe Newell said in a statement. “As the platform grows, our job is to adapt to the changing needs of both the development and user communities. In the coming year, we plan to make perhaps our most significant collaborations with both communities through the Steam Dev Days and the Steam Machines beta.”
