The popular Legend of Zelda series has a tradition of being associated with the color gold. This first started with the gold cartridge of the original game, and the tradition has gone on to include even the remake of Wind Waker, causing all fans who think of Zelda to think of the color gold.
The tradition continues with the upcoming game, Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. In addition, we’ve learned that Nintendo will indeed be releasing the Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 3DS XL in North America.
For those who are unaware, this 3DS will feature gold on one side and black on the other, thus representing the two parallel worlds that Link will be travelling between in the game. Nintendo made the announcement via a special video featuring Eiji Aonuma. The system will feature a suggested retail price of $219.99, and will include a download code for the game.
Scott Moffit, vice president of Sales and Marketing for Nintendo of America, stated, “This beautifully designed Nintendo 3DS XL system continues a tradition that has delighted our fans for decades. It’s a special bundle for a very special video game.”
How will Link’s travels between Hyrule and Lorule proceed?
